With everybody’s help we have filled the Piggy Banks. We opened them on Thursday 26th March .We were very surprised when we saw how much we had collected: 538.10 euros (five hundred and thirty eight euros and ten cents).
We changed the euros into meticales and the result was 17,219.20 meticales (seventeen thousand two hundred and nineteen meticales and twenty cents).
We are going to continue collecting money every Thursday using our solidarity metre.
We have been told that you received the pencils, rubbers, colours … that we sent you.
We are very happy that we are able to help the people living near you.
What are the meticales like? What colour are they? What types of notes are there? Are there any coins?
We are looking forward to receiving your letter.
Take care and best wishes from 5th grade pupils at Lucía Jiménez School.

Hello Manolín.
We are your friends from the Canary Islands. We are delighted that we can help the children of Sábiè. We have opened the Piggy Banks and we had collected five hundred and thirty eight euros and ten cents. We changed them into meticales and the result was seventeen thousand two hundred and nineteen meticales and twenty cents .The teachers of the school are very surprised and happy and we are very happy too.
We want to say that we are going to continue collecting money for the children of Mozambique. We will send letters, solidarity meters and money.
We all hope that you are well. We hope to see you soon even thought we would prefer that you stay there with them because they need you more that us.
Best wishes from the children of 6th grade at Lucía Jiménez School.
